Audiobooks

OK, I got this app so I could get rid of my iPod Nano, which I only use for podcasts and audiobooks. So far I have no qualms with the podcast feature of this app. Works great, which I believe is the main function. However, like I said, I also read it does audiobooks as well. But, unfortunately, I cannot understand how to do this. I have looked at http://www.snoggdoggler.com/node/278, but I do not understand a few things.

" * Create a feed and enable the 'virtual feed' feed option."
- How do I create a feed? What do I do with it once I do? And, I do not see anywhere in the menu an option for 'virtual feed'.

" * View the list of feeds. Your new virtual feed will have a number in the title.
* Place the media files in the folder on your SD card that corresponds to the folder for the virtual. E.g. /sdcard/DoggCatcher/EpisodeEnclosures/[number].
* Update the feed "
- I think the last three steps will make sense once the first is explained.

I will be grateful to anyone that is willing to help.
Thank you

Virtual feed

You can create a feed by pressing the menu while of the main feeds screen and selecting add. One of the options there is to add by url. Once you do that, there's an option to select virtual feed...then you can pick where you have the ** in your post and you should be set. Let me know if you have any problems.

Thanks

Thank you, Eric. I had gone to the 'Add RSS' option before, but because my OS keyboard automatically opened, I had not noticed that I could scroll down for more options. Dumb moment, I know. It's working now. This app fulfills my audio needs. And my daughter has a new (slightly used) 'fatty' Nano.

vlc mp3

I tried to put an audiobook into the enclosure I made. I could see it in the file viewer on the pc when the phone was connected to move content via usb.
but in the doggcatcher app there were no visible files in that enclosure. I made sure finished were not hidden, refreshed, even closed and reopened the app (but didn't restart the phone)
Why am I not able to play this audiobook?

New Virtual Feed

From the feeds tab>scroll down to the newly created virtual feed>Press the context menu icon (Hamburger Icon Right of Feed Title) a dialog box will open>Press "Flag all new"> Repeat the above sequence again and this time...press "Refresh" > The audiobook media files should appear.

No problem

Actually, the fact that the on-screen keyboard pops up as soon as you go into the feed options has bothered me for a while. I created an issue to get that fixed.

Thanks for the feedback.
