Hello,
I'm a bit confused about how the auto download setting. If I set it to 5, does that mean "automatically download up to 5 new episodes at a time from the feed at every update" or does it mean "automatically download up to 5 episodes for the feed totat and no more will be downloaded until some are deleted".
What I am looking for is a combination of auto download and auto delete settings that will allow me to download and keep the N most recent podcasts for a given feed and delete older ones even if they have not been listened to or are in progress. Most of the podcasts that I listen to are quite topical and I want to always have the most recent ones available. If I haven't listened to it by the time there are several more recent episodes, I'm just not going to listen to it.
Is there a way to do this in the current release?
Thanks.

The auto-download depends on the auto-delete policy.
What you are describing is this - http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=31
It was just released to the beta testers a few days ago. If you want, I can bring you into the beta and you can test it out for me :-)
If not, then you can set the max items to 5 and the auto-downloads to 5. You'll get the behavior you want. The drawback is that you won't be able to see the items older than the 5th.
Yup, issue 31 is exactly what I'm looking for.
I'd be happy to help test it. Just let me know what I need to do.
You'll get an email shortly about the beta. Thanks for helping.
