Skipping and Duplicate Episodes

Ok, so I've tried searching and trouble shooting on my own and I can't figure this out. I keep trying to remember to post when I'm at home but I only listen at work so I apologize if I'm missing any pertinent information, just let me know what you need and I'll add it.

Problem #1 - Skipping DEAR GOD THE SKIPPING! Every podcast I listen to has begun skipping intermittently. I've been getting by by pausing a podcast for 10 seconds, and then hitting play, it'll play for a hot second, and then start skipping more and more until you can't hear the words and then doggcatcher pauses itself. So I'll hit play and the cycle repeats. This happens when I used wired head phones as well as bluetooth. I tried the external player suggestion I found in another post and got the error message - "This episode cannot be played: file//storage/emulated/0/DoggCather/EpisodeEnclosures/13/STU7375964069.mp3 exposed beyond app through intent.getData()" Sooo if anyone know what that means and could help me get through that I will give you all the positive karma coming your way!

Problem #2 - DoggCatcher has started downloading the same episode over and over and over and over again BUT it labels each episode properly. Originally this was only happening in My Dad Wrote a Porno. Which sucks because I love that podcast, but I literally stopped listening because it was just the same episode. For example - It would download "S5E7 - 'A Gentleman Woof'" and this episode would play. The next downloaded episode is titled in the app as "S5E8 -'M's The Word'", so I would think that's the episode that will play when I click it. NOPE It starts playing S5S7 again. I know this isn't an issue for other people because my coworker also listens and she's able to listen to all the new episodes. This happened with another podcast earlier this week but I can't remember which, I just skipped that one and started listening to another. I'd really like to keep listening to these podcasts so any help you have would be great. EDIT - This is also happening with Beautiful Anonymous which is my favorite podcast. About to give up on DoggCatcher all together if this can't be fixed! Any one have suggestions that are similar to Apple Podcasts only for android? I mainly just want an auto download option and an auto-populate for all un-heard episodes to show up in my feed. Doggcatcher used to work for these two things.

Thank you in advance!

See FAQ Posts

Problem #1
First see the "Audio playback problems" post under "Playback Issues" http://www.doggcatcher.com/AudioPlaybackProblems - switch to Google’s Android experimental media player for 6.0+/7.0+/8.0 and up devices.

If you're playing media files stored on an SD Card - see Files (Audio or Video) won't playback - http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6640 or http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/1419

Problem #2 Re: downloading the same episode over and over - see http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6613

For other issues if you upgraded to a new device - see http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6977

Thank you! This did help me

Thank you! This did help me with Problem #2. However, I wasn't able to figure out problem #1. Is there any more detail on how I can follow these directions - "Also if you experience playback issues with the app’s player itself on your new device or upgraded OS, please see the "Audio playback problems" post under "Playback Issues" http://www.doggcatcher.com/AudioPlaybackProblems and switch to Google’s Android experimental media player for 6.0+/7.0+/8.0 and up devices"

I tried switching to an external audio player but now it won't play anything. It's giving me the error - This episode cannot be played.

Thank you!

No, switch back to the

No, switch back to the "Integrated Player" in the "Audio Player: settings

You're to switch to the “Experimental Marshmallow media player” from the "Advanced" settings, scroll down pass the audio setting to advanced and enable the experimental player. (DC Menu>Settings>Advanced)
