I have an LG v30 and have been using doggcatcher for years.
Just in the last couple days I noticed while listening to a podcast that it will initially start off loud enough (usual loud-ish volume) and then it will randomly lower the volume to about 75%. I I know it is not the volume buttons being pressed in my pocket because if I press the pause button then hit the play button after 1 second the volume will return to the normal loud setting and then a few minutes into the podcast it will lower the volume again. At first I thought it was the podcast producer changing the audio levels during the middle of a show however I listen to about eight different podcasts and they all do the same thing so it is not that
I also listen to Pandora and it is loud and it NEVER changes volume so I doubt that the problem is related to my handset or the speaker. I have not tried using the earbud headphones to see if the problem is there as well however it certainly appears to be a software problem with DC.
Do you know what this can be?
The app doesn't handle audio routing or volume level output, Android does ....are you experiencing the problem with all your feed/podcast subscriptions or just one particular feed?
If the issue is with just one feed, try deleting the file & re downloading the media file from the feed. See "How to Manually Delete an Individual Podcast Episode" http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/6873 - If the problem continues, contact the publisher and let them know about the problem.
If the issue is with all feed subscriptions, try restarting the app and/or rebooting the device solves the problem.
Exit the app (In the DC Navigation Menu>More>Exit) then restart the app
Also try switching to Google’s Android experimental media player for 6.0+/7.0+/8.0 and up device first ....see the "Audio playback problems" post under "Playback Issues" http://www.doggcatcher.com/AudioPlaybackProblems
