Really unhappy and disappointed DC user. Here's why.

I'm really unhappy with the lack of support from Eric and Wayne on this forum. I have tried, as politely as possible, to address an issue with DC posting excessive numbers of notifications. This issue is negatively impacting one of my own applications (I'm also an Android developer). The thread is on this forum, I won't repeat all the details here. Suffice it to say that my questions go unanswered for weeks on end - I think that Eric & Wayne just don't want to engage any further on this topic. The last response I got claimed that the problem had been fixed before I had even reported it - clearly not true.

Honestly, how difficult would it be to say either "We'll try to fix the problem" or "Sorry, we aren't going to fix it because xyz". Either of these responses would be fine, and I can make my own choice from there. I've used a lot of 3rd party paid-for Android software and normally the developers are polite, courteous and responsive in answering any user queries. I don't see why Eric & Wayne can't maintain the same standard.

It's really the principle that annoys me here. If you charge for software, you should provide some level of support - at the very least answering basic yes/no questions.

So I'm now going to do something that I have never done before in all my years of being an Android user and developer. I'm asking for the DC developer to refund the purchase price of the software. This is the second time I'm asking - I asked in the another thread and (surprise) no reply.. I'm asking this in recognition of the time I've taken to (a) report the problem, (b) provide further details/clarifications and (c) monitor the DC forums periodically for replies that haven't been forthcoming. Eric or Wayne can contact me any time at the email address malcolm(at)freepoc.org to arrange for this refund.

I want to close by saying that I started using DC based on positive recommendations from other users at the time (this is some years back). I get that Eric busy. I get that Wayne is busy. We are all busy. But - and again I say this as a fellow developer - don't provide a support forum and then just ignore users with legitimate queries and concerns.

Yep, I'm more than happy to

Yep, I'm more than happy to issue a refund. I tried to find your order based on the email address I have for you but I couldn't find it...it's possible you purchased with a different email. I also couldn't find a support ticket open for this, so maybe it's just the forum discussion that covers what's going on.

Either way, just send your order # to support at doggcatcher.com and I'll get the refund issued. If you don't have the order #, I may be able to dig up the order number from the email you placed the order with if the order isn't too old.

Sorry the software isn't working out for you.
