Swiping

This release adds swiping towards the right to go 'back. I just tested this on my g1 and it's working ok...also ok on a few beta testers with the G1. Anyone else on a G1 having this problem?

It sounds like your up/down scroll is triggering the 'back' behavior. If you press on a feed to go to the items screen, and then scroll up/down, does it take you back to the home screen?

Can you please reproduce the problem and then send the log (debug log in the dc menu) to me. If it's mis-detecting the swipe, I should see it in the log.

sent

Hi Eric the log file has been sent. If I'm in a feed I can scroll up and down with no problem. Its when I'm on the main screen with all my different feeds that it does this. Thanks for your time.

Flingability

Yep, we are definitely registering flings, I can see that clearly in your log. I'm going to compare your log to my G1 and I'll let you know what I find. I might need to add a preference to disable the flingability if I can't figure out what's going on with your device.

What you might try in the mean time is scrolling very slowly. The flings only register if they occur at a minimum velocity, so if you scroll slowly, it might not hit that velocity.

Thanks for sending the log, I'll post when I learn something.

Also, if anyone else experiences this, please let me know. I'd like to know how many users are affected.

thank you

Great I'm glad I'm not going nuts! Yes if you move your finger up very very slowly and lift your finger off the screen very very slowly it does work. And I just wanna say what great support! I use doggcatcher all day long and couldn't live without it.

Market update coming soon

Another user on a cliq reported the same problem in the market comments.

I've added a preference to turn on/off flingability and it defaults to false. This way it won't negatively affect existing users but people can turn it on if they like. We can then work through whatever issues are causing it to misbehave on some phones.

This release will be published to the market in the next day or two.
