DC won't write to SD card on my Android 5.1.1

DoggCatcher Version: 1.2.4147
Device: Huawei P7
Android Build: 5.1.1

SUMMARY: DC won't write to SD card
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Misc
2. Storage Directory
3. /storage/sdcard1/Android/data/ (orange link)
4. "potential data loss" YES
5. OK
6. OK to restart

WHAT HAPPENS: "DL failed, giving up" for all downloads
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: DC should write to the SD card
FREQUENCY: 100%
SEVERITY: Serious

I have reinstalled my phone recently and imported a database (though I have had the same problem before and used the internal storage, which I prefer not to do any more). There are currently no EpisodeEnclosures in the snoggdoggler folder.

It works fine if I choose the internal SD (/storage/emulated/0/Android/data/ is the orange link that DC offers me to the internal storage).

I have no general problems with my SD card with other apps.

Thank you, but could you

Thank you, but could you elaborate how this would help me?

Android 6.0 and up is obviously not the case.

And I did follow the instructions by using the default Android data folder on the SD card. I don't see any different information in the links provided.

If you read the post, it will

If you read the post, it will explain why you're experiencing the problem with external storage issue with Android 6.0 and Android 5.1.1

The "From the "Storage Directory" post explains how to set DC to the external storage directory for Android 4.4 and up (This includes Android 5.1.1 & Android 6.0) http://www.doggcatcher.com/comment/14662#comment-14662

Okay, but that is exactly

Okay, but that is exactly what I'm doing, as described above. I'm following the instructions given in these posts you are citing, I already did before. I don't see where the instructions differ from what I'm doing. I set the storage directory to "/storage/sdcard1/Android/data/" (which is displayed in orange), but that does not work. I mean, it does change the path, but as a consequence no download will work. Unless I switch back to the internal storage.
I even checked if the path is correct in the individual feed, and yes, it is "/storage/extSdCard/Android/Data/com.snoggdoggler.android.applications.doggcatcher.v1_0". So can you please tell me what I could try aside from what I already did?
