SD Card not selectable as storage location // Samsung Galaxy J5

DoggCatcher Version: 1.2.4147
Device: Samsung J5
Android Version: 6.0.1
Carrier: O2
SUMMARY: SD Card not selectable as storage location
1. Start DC
2. Go to storage location settings
WHAT HAPPENS: The SD card is not selectable. Only locations beneath /storage/emulated/0 are shown.
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: SD card should be selectable
When going to the "About" Screen, the screen states the free memory of the internal device memory as free space (1GB opposed to >50G on SD). The authorizations are set for the App to write to SD card.
I tried the solutions in the FAQ and read several forum posts as well. However none seem to fit my problem / yield a solution.
It would be great if you could direct me to the correct post or help me with my problem.

Thank you very much and have a nice evening.
Best regards

Marshmallow (Android 6.0)& Up external storage (SD Cards) Issue

Since KitKat (Android 4.4) and up the app only has limited access to external storage (SD Cards) and can only access to the Android/data directory. See FAQ post "How does DoggCatcher use SD cards and large built-in storage?" -

So with the Marshmallow (Android 6.0)& Up update, Android also requires read/write permission to access the Android Data limited directory. See FAQ post "Why am I experiencing external storage (SD Cards) problems after my device has been upgraded to Marshmallow (Android 6.0)?"

You can select a custom storage directory for virtual feeds on external storage (SD Cards) or internal storage, but there will be a warning for external storage directories (Triangle Icon) top right of the screen (Press & select "Hide Warning") See user guide post on "Virtual feeds"
