Buzz Out Loud Not Auto Updating

I recently have noticed that my BOL is not auto updating. I lists the episode but says 'not downloaded.' What's the deal?

Items flagged as new

Are any of the items flagged as new? If so, let me know what your auto-download setting is for the feed.

Similar issue

I am having a similar problem with Buzz out Loud. I can download the day's podcast, listen to half of it, then put it away for the night. In the morning, when I try to resume, the podcast is marked as 'not downloaded'. This is despite the fact that the DC media player still shows the title of the podcast and the progress bar is somewhere in the middle of the file. Pressing play does not cause it to resume. You can, in fact, re-download the episode, and Doggcatcher will indeed resume where it left off.

Is CNET changing something in the feed that causes the original file to get removed and a new one to be waiting? This could potentially be the same as rresidori's problem, if DC is actually downloading the original file but it doesn't get viewed until the enclosure changes and it as marked as 'not downloaded' again.

BTW, for BOL my auto-download and auto-delete settings are "Use Global Setting". The global auto-download setting is "Auto downloads = 3", and Auto Delete Policy = None. Also, my update interval is 6 hours, and I do not have either 'on wifi' or 'on power' checked in the download restriction section.

Exactly what you are describing will happen if the filename of the audio enclosure changes in the feed. The item title will still be displayed in the seekbar, the item will show as not downloaded. Once you download it, it will resume where it left off because it remembered it from before.

I've had this happen from time to time with different feeds. I don't know why they change the filename, possibly if they update the file with a change. As long as the item title stays the same, DC will consider it to be the same item, regardless of what the media filename is.
