Can't configure to use external storage card

LG Volt, Android 4.4.2. I've been using DC for years, now I can't get it to use external storage. On the DC storage config page, I've tried changing from the green colored choices to the orange choice to allow Android to pick best location (as suggested in FAQ), but DC still downloads to internal storage. Tried browsing on DC storage config page and selected /storage/external_SD but that doesn't have any effect. How do I change configuration to use SD card? tnx

LG - external storage card

1. Verify if the current card is not corrupted or defective in someway

2. Try another card or unmount/remount the SD card (Device Settings>Storage>Press “Unmount SD Card” or Unmount icon>Reboot the device)

3. Restart app and point DC to the external storage location again (DC Menu>Settings>Miscellaneous>Storage Directory)

Press on depending on device
/storage/ext_sd/Android/data
/storage/SD card1/Android/data
/storage/extSdCard/Android/Data
highlighted in orange “Limited”
Then press "Yes' on the dialog box - this will auto-fill the storage directory box down below - on the second dialog box press OK - DC will restart

4. From the “Feeds” tab>Check the “Feed storage directory” section for each feed, then press on the “Default” option (By pressing the context menu on each feed (Hamburger Icon Right of Feed Title) >Press “Feed Options”>Scroll down to“Feed storage directory”)

Redoing step #3 worked, even

Redoing step #3 worked, even though it seems like exactly what I did before. One difference between the list of files shown in your post and my list, is the device I chose is called /storage/emulated/0/Android/data, that's the choice that was orange colored.
I don't understand the point of step #4, the feeds already have that directory as the prefix to their storage directory.
thanks

Storage

You're welcome

The /storage/emulated/0/Android/data is a Android data internal storage directory, there should be 5th option for external storage directory to press on (Example /storage/1/Android/data or /storage/6562-6463/Android/data ) scroll down list and if there is a 5th storage directory and choose that one.

The 4th step - Sometimes after changing to the new Android data location, some feed subscriptions are still pointed to the original storage directory
