Importing backup and using DoggCatcher in restricted profile?

Does DoggCatcher work an Android Restricted profile (https://support.google.com/nexus/answer/3175031?hl=en)? At least for Import and Export, it seems to assume paths that don't work in the profile, e.g. following error trying to backup. It seems to work OK otherwise so far, but I'm wondering if I'm going to run into problems down the road.

Error trying to backup: "cannot read folder: /data/data/com.snoggdoggler.android.applications.doggcatcher.v1_0/databases" (Backup location is shown as /storage/emulated/12/DoggCatcher/Backups/)

TIA,

Von

Rstricted Profiles

The app has limited read/write access in a restricted profile of a device, so the device owner can edit the profile permissions to allow DC to backup at the particular directory /storage/emulated/12/DoggCatcher/Backups/ and the ability read the DC application database - /data/data/com.snoggdoggler.android.applications.doggcatcher.v1_0/databases"

If I'm incorrect about this issue, Eric (Developer ) will respond later today or tomorrow.

Restricted Profiles

@WayneC: If Android has the ability to give the sort of fine grain permissions as you describe, I have no idea how to do it and a pointer would be appreciated. As far as I can tell, all you can do is say whether or not an App appears in the profile.

Aside: My experience so far is that Doggcatcher runs just fine in the restricted profile with the exception I haven't gotten import and export to work as described in my first post.

Edit Restricted Profiles

Log into the device owner profile of the device

1. Open the restricted user profile (Device Settings>User>Other Users>Restricted Profile)

2. Edit the profile permissions for the app (DC) to have read/write access to internal/external directories

If the option to edit the profile permissions isn't available on the version of Android running on this particular phone/tablet, contact the device manufacturer and/or wireless carrier customer support or Google Play Store Support (http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/3201) about this issue -
