Doggcatcher not sending track info through bluetooth

Changed phone from HTC One (M7) to Huawei Honor 7. Text from Doggcatcher worked on the HTC, but doesn't work on the Honor. First I thought that it was a problem with the phone, but when I play music from the phones music player, Spotify and Tidal all sends the text properly, so it must be a Doggcatcher related issue. The text on the player is the last played track from a player that worked (i.e Spotify). The buttons on the steering wheel works for play/pause, it is only the track info that doesn't. I have testet the phone on several different bluetooth players, and none receives track info from Doggcatcher on this phone.

DETAILS:
DoggCatcher Version: 1.2.5234
Device: Huawei Honor 7 (PLK-L01)
Android version: 5.0.2
Carrier: Telenor / OneCall
SUMMARY: Bluetooth track info not working
STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
WHAT HAPPENS: Doggcatcher doesn't send track info to bluetooth player
WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: Doggcatcher should send track info to bluetooth player
FREQUENCY: 100%
SEVERITY: Annoying

Is the settings / lock screen

Is the settings / lock screen / lock screen buttons enabed? On most devices, that is required to get the bluetooth metadata to display.

Bluetooth Metadata

DC supports Bluetooth display of media metadata, though on some devices require DC's "Lock screen button" to be enabled (In the DC Navigation Menu>Settings>Headset/Lockscreen) See posted FAQ article Headset buttons / Lock screen/ Bluetooth metadata - http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/858

If that fails to resolve the problem, check your device's Bluetooth settings and delete all prior pairings and try setting them up again from scratch

Additionally you're running an older version of the beta (1.2.5234) - backup DC first (In the DC Navigation Menu>Settings>Backup/Restore/Export) and update to the current version ( 1.2.5237) from Google's Play Store

I have updated Doggcatcher,

I have updated Doggcatcher, checked that Lock Screen Buttons are enabled and even changed the lock screen (In case it was the Huawei lock screen that created the trouble) without success. Doggcatcher shows up on the lock screen with buttons. I have tried the phone on multiple stereos, it is only the metadata that doesn't work, the app responds as expected to bluetooth button actions. This is a strange problem, as both Spotify, Tidal and the internal music player sends the metadata correctly. I have also discovered that when I resume an audio playback automatically when I start the car, the duration bar in the car is blank. It resets and shows the proper time and duration when Doggcatcher plays the next podcast, but still no other metadata.

I don't know what else to

I don't know what else to suggest, though you didn't mention if you deleted the all prior BT pairings on your device (Particularly the pairing for your vehicle) and setting them up again, to see if that's that's the problem.

Currently regarding the display Bluetooth metadata...time and duration from Doggcatcher is the only thing left that isn't supported yet, Eric (DC developer) has this on his to do list (See Issue - 0002071: Display bluetooth metadata for progress and duration - http://mantis.doggcatcher.com/view.php?id=2071 ) listed under DoggCatcher - 1.2.two.after.next (Scheduled For Release 2016-01-08) http://mantis.doggcatcher.com/roadmap_page.php

Eric will respond later today or tomorrow if there is another option or workaround to get this working, this will be difficult since he doesn't have access to your particular device.
