Tiesto feed crashes Doggcatcher every time

Feed url: http://rss.bnn.nl/

My max items setting is 200, which might matter since this feed has a lot of episodes. Adding this feed appears to work fine at first and shows 197 episodes. I can browse through the feed and queue up some downloads, however for some reason the "Doggcatcher is busy: updating feeds" stays on the notification bar for about 10 minutes. After 10 minutes have passed, Doggcatcher crashes. I don't have to do anything other than add the feed and then sit idle on the main feeds screen for 10 minutes. After the crash, it restarts but this feed now shows 0 episodes. If I refresh the feed, it comes up with only 1 very old episode (the very oldest I think) and repeatedly refreshing doesn't change this. If I then delete and readd the feed, I get back to 197 episodes for 10 minutes until the next crash. I have replicated this on both my Galaxy S5 and on my Nexus 7 2013 LTE.

Thanks!

It's probably the app is out

It's probably the app is out of memory, send a log right after DC crashes to confirm (In the DC Navigation Menu>Report Problem )

"Report problem" is now done.

"Report problem" is now done. To add to this a bit, I also tried adding the feed with a max episodes of 100 and then again with it set to 10 and it still crashes. So, if this is a memory problem, it looks like limiting episode max isn't enough to get around it.

It looks like a memory

It looks like a memory problem, there a few low system memory entries in the log, Lollipop has a memory leak bug, I subscribed to the feed on a Nexus 7 device with only the default feed subscriptions as additional feeds & number of episodes set to 10 & the Tiësto feed set to 500 , the app crashed only once since 7:30 , downloaded 4 episodes, played back 2 without an issue .

Try lowering number of episodes of other feed subscriptions to a lower number and disable power saving mode on your Galaxy S5 device

If I'm understanding you

If I'm understanding you correctly, your Nexus 7 also crashed when the feed was added. I don't think this is a memory leak issue, as Doggcatcher seems to crash every single time this feed is added, even on a freshly booted system. Also, I would think that if it were a memory problem then it would also crash on future updates of the feed.

Anyway, since the crash only happens on initial add, it isn't a huge problem. After the crash and relaunch of Doggcatcher, I changed the identifier to title and enabled "full fetch" and I now see all ~200 episodes. If you also are seeing this crash on add in your own tests then I suggest it might deserve some investigation as a low priority bug.

Consider me suspicious of a bug but happy enough since it is a one-time crash on an unusual action and I'm past it now. Thanks for your help!
