after purchasing paid version, all feeds say "error - check status of last update"

DETAILS:
DoggCatcher Version: 1.2.4057
Device: rooted Samsung Galaxy S4 (m919)
Android Build: 4.3
Carrier: T-Mobile USA

SUMMARY: after purchasing paid version, all feeds say "error - check status of last update" except virtual feeds

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Get free version
2. Set up feeds, download a bunch of episodes
3. purchase and install paid version
4. make a backup from free version
5. load backup into paid version
6. uninstall and delete free version
7. attempt to update feeds/load more episodes in paid version

WHAT HAPPENS: all RSS feeds say "Error - check status of last update." When I use the righthand menu to see the status of last update, it says "Last update result: error - check status of last update" which I found especially hilarious.

Possibly related, the "press to load more" button at the bottom doesn't work - it claims to be displaying all episodes provided by the publisher, even when I know that isn't true; for example, using the free version, I had downloaded 99percent invisible from the most recent back to #63. Now it says there are no more episodes, even though the rss feed goes all the way back to #1: http://feeds.99percentinvisible.org/99percentinvisible

Possibly related; my virtual feeds both have one or more files that fail to "download" - the application log event says "download failure [name of mp3], detail: java.net.malformedurlexception: protocol not found"

WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: updates should locate new episodes or tell me there are no more; the press to load more button should show the entire list of available episodes

FREQUENCY: 100%

SEVERITY: moderate to serious, I can still play what I have...

Thank you in advance. Let me know if I should post these separately - they all started at the same time but they may be totally different problems.

If Wayne suggestion isn't the root cause, please send a log (in the nav drawer, report problem) and I'll check it out.

I am having the same problem.

I am having the same problem. The message says to check the status of the last update.

This is very frustrating as there is no indication of how to check that status, what I am checking for, or what to do when I have checked.

This message is worse than of it simply said "do something"
As it is, my app is unusable. Please tell me what I can do to keep this from happening.
