I just pushed a release to the market that adds an action bar button to toggle between tile and list views. I'm probably going to remove that in the next release and add it to the settings...we're running out of room in the action bar. It's there now mainly to increase awareness that it's possible to toggle the views.
* Only 1st few characters on podcast name is displayed. I have several with the same 1st part of the title. I can't tell them apart. 2 wide should improve this some.
* The ones with no image, mainly text / blog feeds look real bad!
* left right up down is very confusing. Not logical for a power user / programmer type.
* on the ones that do have images, they are usually a face. I don't want to see that person's Mug! I listen / read for the content. Not the author's face. I guess that is what really bugged me. App should have a set of standard tiles to choose from if you don't like the one displayed.
I cannot believe that this update just force changed the view into this crappy icon grid view and I can't change it back. If I weren't already registered, I would have registered just to complain.
This is a deal breaker for me. I've already started searching for a replacement. What a horrible idea Eric, you need to rethink it.
I dislike the new tile view, and I prefer the old list view.
The new tile view partially obscures the lower portion of the feed's icon, which makes it harder to read and less visually pleasing. It also truncates the podcast name after just a few characters so it is impossible to differentiate podcasts with similar names.
Eg. "CBC News: World Report" and "CBC News: World at Six" both become "CBC News: Wor..."
This update was not well thought through, and I cannot believe that there is no option to revert to the old list view.
Even if these issues were corrected, I still find lists easier to scan than tiles.
I am not a fan of the new tiles either. I feel like I am seeing less information within the limited screen space available. To me, that is counter intuitive because phone screens are small.
Also, what used to be easily digestable is now muddled. I can't quickly see what I have without digging through the filters.
Given a choice, I would choose a list view in a heartbeat. This just feels like forcing people to use "thumbnail" as your only option in windows explorer.
I registered for this forum just to add my vote to the many I found here *against the tiles*. I now see list view is back as an option, and hope to get that update very soon. Thank you, Eric, for listening!
The marketplace spoke pretty clearly on this; and we're quite grateful you're listening -- and I hope you recognize how much better it is to have an engaged/passionate/articulate userbase than an entirely indifferent and unloyal one.
I just read the user posts as well as developer (Eric's) responses about list vs icons. Kudos for a useful and powerful app. And thanks for putting out the effort to satisfy your users. Still a five star app in my opinion (now that I can keep user lists- the icons only while trying to add feeds was making me twitch).
Eric, you are a 5 star developer as well. Thanks for your responsiveness to this issue as well as another issue I had some time ago. I look forward to continued use of DoggCatcher.
One of the things i have liked about your app is its professionalism and responsiveness to customers. Service keeps them coming back.

Must go rest.....:-)
I was just swinging by to ask for the list view to make a comeback and I find you've already done it. Thank you!
it was hard enough to add a new feed and move to where I wanted it in the list. I hate to image how I am going to feel the next time I add a feed.
I agree with this posts.
and, a few QA comments

In this thread above (46) here http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/5640#comment-13783 Eric released a update last night with an option to switch between tile & list views
