Motorola Milestone.
Have just installed doggcatcher and now my phone isn't waking when I press the power button. The soft buttons along the bottom of the screen light up, and the backlight comes on, but the screen is black. Volume up and down keys makes noise/vibrate, so somethings going on in there but I don't get the unlock screen. Removing the battery is the only way I can get access to the phone again. This has happened 3 times in the 30 minutes or so since I installed doggcatcher, and has not happened before. I haven't installed other new applications.
...help?
DC doesn't have the authority to block the phone from waking (it can prevent from sleeping) or the other things that you are describing.
Having said that, you could try uninstalling the application. But before doing that you might want to perform a backup, which is in the DC menu.
Do you have any home replacement apps installed? I would think that a rogue home app might be able to cause some of those symptoms, but that's just a guess, I don't have any direct experience with that.
hmm. seems to have abated now i've got the first download lots of things out of the way. Will see how it goes. Does DC get notified when the phone wakes? could something there be looping?
DC doesn't respond to waking, but it does cause wakes to occur when the feeds need to be updated.
For what it is worth, I have also had this problem. Sometimes my Droid goes to sleep and I can't get it to wake up although the buttons on the bottom of the screen light up. This has only happened when using Doggcatcher. I have a suspicion it is related to downloading podcasts when my sdcard is almost full.
It seems like an Android bug that Doggcatcher is triggering since no app ought to be able to have this effect on the phone.
