All feeds deleted and now Doggcatcher will not start after trying to load my backup.

So I went to download one of the many daily podcasts I listen to (I download this one every weekday along with over a dozen others) and just after it started downloading, Doggcatcher force closed and the "Doggcatcher has stopped" notification popped up. No big deal. So I restart Doggcatcher and instead of all my podcast feed names showing, it is showing a bunch of URLs for some other random stuff.

I closed out, restarted my device then re-opened Doggcatcher; no change in the feed descriptions.

Pulled out the battery for a bit, restarted then re-opened Doggcatcher; no change.

So finally go to load my backup, which is a bit old, but still better than re-adding forty different feeds and updating them all. It says Doggcatcher will now restart to complete the action, except when it goes to restart I get "Doggcatcher has stopped". Now whenever I go to start Doggcatcher, I get the blue splash for about five seconds, then force close and "Doggcatcher has stopped".

I am on a Telus Samsung Galaxy SIIX (same as the T-Mobile SII) running Android 4.1.2.

Is there anything else I can try before deleting and re-downloading the app (I would love to avoid re-adding every single podcast if I could)?

Thanks.

The old backup was made with an older version of DC & the restore failed, because DC upgraded the database between versions (Example - backup of version 1.2.3469 database won't work for the latest version 1.2.4026 of DC) I’m sorry in this case you will lose your feeds database and configuration settings.
The only other option is to uninstall/re-install DC and backup on a regular basis or try the Cloud Sync beta feature, see FAQ article for information on how to join beta group ( http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/4189)
Also see the FAQ post on Cloud Sync http://www.doggcatcher.com/CloudSync

Well that stinks.

Going to be a fun night re-adding every feed and trying to remember all of the passwords for my premiums...

Awesome.

I'm sorry about that

I'm sorry about that. For the previously downloaded media files, you can create a virtual feed
http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/1810

Before uninstalling/re-installing DC, install aLogcat (free) or Log Collector app (Available in the Google Play Store) and email a log to Eric right after DC fails to start. The log could show why the problem happened in the first place (support (AT) doggcatcher (DOT) com)

Not your fault Wayne, just a bit frustrated over here. I'll take a look at those sync methods after I get myself back in order.

Cheers.
