Verifying orphan downloads

I'm in the process of moving all my data from a Google Dev Phone to an HTC Hero. While moving the stuff from my old SD to the new one I noticed at least one file in the DoggCatcher/EpisodeEnclosures directory that corresponds to an episode that's already marked as done (actually was marked as done some weeks ago). This makes me think that perhaps there are more "orphan" files there that should have been deleted but weren't (perhaps DC got evicted from memory at the wrong moment, a reboot, whatever). Perhaps it would be a good idea to have an option to verify whether there are any orphan media files. I'm not sure how resource-intensive it would be to do that each time the feeds are updated, but perhaps at least an option to do it manually, or something that runs on a different schedule from the updates, or every X updates. Does this sound reasonable?

Good idea

I haven't heard of this happening before, but it seems like there could be some circumstances when it could occur.

I created a mantis issue for this.

Thanks for the feedback.
