Storage Options

Hi Guys, new to DoggCatcher due to being new to Android after two years in BlackBerry land. DoggCatcher seems a very competent product that is very inline with the BlackBerry appl PodTrapper, so I'm feeling pretty much at home. Just a couple of things though.. might just be me not finding the answer on the site, if so apologies.

1. Playlist.. I see they pure chronological ordering is coming in .soon which is nice, I can't imagine using the app in any other way, else some of my older stuff will just keep on getting older! However, along with that will there be the option to 'prioritize' certain podcasts to still jump to the top? That is to say the majority of the list will be in date order, oldest to newest, but if a new 'caast comes from my favorite Digital Cowboys I can have that jump to the top?

2. Storage. Dogg says it uses the external storage to store the files, however this seems to use the internal storage on my Samsung Galaxy.. it this purely to do with my device having an 8GB built in SD as well as a user slot for an external mini HCSD card? Is there likely to ever be an option to select this external card for the data, leaving my integrated space for music/videos?

Thanks for the product, well worth the money already, but we all like to get things tailored to our needs ;)

Thanks for the feedback

I've always heard good things about PodTrapper.

1 - Playlist - Unless I'm misunderstanding you, the current playlist operates the way you are suggesting. It's ordered by feed, defined by the order you determine in your feed list. Then within the feed, it is ordered with the oldest first. This makes sure none of the items get starved and you can set the feed priority by ordering the feeds.

2 - Storage - You're right about the storage. I have always referred to it as 'external' but in the case of the galaxy, the term doesn't fit properly. I should refer to it as sd card, which is where the device considers /sdcard to be on the file system. I already had a mantis issue for configuring the download directory...I just moved it to 'soon'

Thanks a lot for the feedback...I'm always interested to hear what new users think of the app. If I'm not getting your first issue, let me know.

Not quite on the first issue.

Not quite on the first issue. Say I have 15 podcasts, 2 of those (my favorites) I want to pop to the top whenever there is a new show, which would work fine with the playlist as it is now just by having those two at the top..

However for the other 13 shows I want them all in chronological order, oldest to newest, i.e. all at the same 'priority' or as if they where all one single podcast source.. if that makes things more clear? Maybe some sort of virtual grouping would work? Though that might be even more work, lol!

As for the storage, yup that seems to fit the bill. Super :)

First Issue

Mantis issue 0000075 is the request for what you want. In the interim I use Yahoo Pipes to aggregate my 'casts and sort 'em all chronologically.
