flag as in progress

When new episodes show up that I want to listen to, I download them and add them to my user playlist (actually this is automatic for most of my feeds). I like new episodes to be ordered by when they were added, but with the ability to rearrange if desired. My question is about what status do people typically keep their unlistened-to, playlisted items? I've been flagging them all as in progress. If I keep them as new, then it's hard to see when new episodes arrive on the feed list. If I flag them as done, then they will get auto-deleted.

So is it normal to have 20-30 episodes flagged as in progress? Based on the name of the flag, it doesn't seem like that's its purpose, but I don't know a better way. However, if this is a common use model, then perhaps there could be a "flag all as in progress" button or menu option?

Thanks!

Currently flagging episodes

Currently flagging episodes green (In Progress) or blue (New) to keep older episodes from being deleted, it's on Eric's to do list for the ability to pin/bookmark episodes (http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=1286)
You can also enable the “Pin Expired” option in the feed options. Long press or press on the context button Triangle Right of the Feed) select feed options, scroll down to & enable retain expired, then press OK.

With this option you have to manually delete files once you have completed an episode

Having episodes in progress

Having episodes in progress seems like it'll work for your purpose. DC won't delete them until you're done with them and you'll be able to distinguish them from newly arrived episodes.

I'm perfectly happy having my whole queue flagged as "in progress". But it would be nice to either have an option to have it automatically flag episodes this way (perhaps as a playlist setting) or for there to be a way to manually flag a group of downloaded episodes this way. Right now I have to do them one by one, which isn't that big of a deal, but it's something I thought was worth bringing up.

Thanks again to both of you for your response. After Google Listen died, I went on a concerted search for a replacement. I think I tried all the main ones, and Doggcatcher definitely fit my needs the best. So I appreciate the product you've made!

One other feature that I liked about Google Listen was that it synced with an online RSS manager. Some other apps can do this with feedly, and that would be a neat feature for DC. Other than this and the two posts I made, I am very happy with my purchase. Thanks!

I had a lengthier post that was blocked by the spam filter. I submitted a report on that.

Basically I just put in my request to have an option to have a playlist auto mark episodes as "in progress". But otherwise I'm happy with the product! Thanks!

"Flag as in progress" missing?

I finally upgraded my phone to a more modern one, and I was able to see the latest features of DoggCatcher (I had Android 2.3 before). But one thing I noticed is that I don't know how to flag as in progress now. Before I would long press on an episode and choose "Flag as in progress". Now, long pressing just selects the episode. The little menu on each episode allows me to flag as done or new, but I can't find "in progress". Am I just missing it, or is this gone for some reason?
