Hide Download Queue Notification

I love DoggCatcher, but there is one addition I would make if I could. I like to be able to disable the status bar notification for "Episodes in download queue". There isn't already an option for this, is there?

I only download episodes automatically over Wifi, but I don't typically use Wifi at work all day, so podcasts aren't downloaded until I get home. I would really like it if I could disable the icon in the status bar or at least swipe it away.

Thanks for the great product!

Anny indication when this

Anny indication when this will be "fixed/implemented" Eric? It has been a couple of years now since you put it on the "todo" list :) and the product is more then mature enough now to start paying attention to the details. I still see this irritating notification in my drawer/notification list:"Episodes in download queue, waiting for power source" (4.4.4)?

This would be okay if you could swipe it away, but this is not possible. Even better is to add an option within DoggCatcher to disable this notification as it's with success/failure/etc.

please help... ? :)

DC Notifications

Eric still has this issue on the to do list, but currently there isn't a way to get rid of that notification. If the app (DC) doesn't show the notification "Episodes in download queue, waiting for power source or WiFi", then Android can kill the app, and episodes in your queue will be gone.

Thank you for explaining why

Thank you for explaining why this is. I thought it was only necessary to keep an icon in the task-bar instead of the drawer to keep the program alive (like tasker). But thanks again for explaining. I hope you guys can fix this in the future. Keep up the good work, DC is an wonderfull app which i use on an daily basis.

Hello, can the queue be saved

Hello, can the queue be saved in some way so when the app starts up again (or automatic feed interval is reached), it reloads the queue and then tries to download again? Or just check for episodes to download every time the app the starts up, though this could be a limitation on how the app applies feed updates. May could save previous states to know what changed between connections to wifi, but that is similar to saving the queue. Kind of a rambling post, but seems like there should be a way to work around the Android limitation, but still offer a similar feature. Sorry for my ignorance of Android if this cannot be done.

it's certainly a good product

it's certainly a good product. to expand on this, it would be very helpful if i could select WHICH notifications I get. so for example, when doggcatcher stops playing because it reached the end of the playlist, i couldn't care any less! i'd love to be able to disable this notification from appearing in the first place, but still have full control over any other notification.

Did this ever get implemented

Did this ever get implemented? I still see the same problem behaviour - when I have episodes in the download queue (e.g. when I'm on mobile data), the playback control notification is replaced by the downloads waiting notification and I lose the ability to quickly control the app from a notification and I have to open the app to control it. This is quite frustrating - I end up having to manually clear the queue until I get onto wifi.

Resurrecting this thread again

Just wanted to add my voice to this thread. My biggest concern is that the queue notification supersedes the playback control notification when playback is paused. That means if I have another app open I can't pause and play again without clearing the queue. Especially a problem with games that take audio focus when opened but I want to listen to a podcast. I could live with the persistent queue notification if it didn't interfere with functionality.

Love the app btw, have used it almost daily since the original Galaxy S came out.
