Unable to see "old" podcasts in DC folders on Android tablet

I recently had to reload DoggCatcher on my Android tablet. I set-up my feeds and started using it again. I then wondered whether I could restore any of the old podcasts that were still stored on my Android tablet. Sadly, I had never done a backup within DC ;-(.

From my PC(Windows 8), I copied and moved files around so that the same files were in the same EpisodeEnclosures on both internal and SD storage on the tablet. I did not change any of the numbers 9,10 etc.

However, when I start DC, I can still only see the episodes that have been downloaded since I restored DC .

What am I missing, which would enable me to see all the "old" episodes?

Orphaned Media Files

Unfortunately without a backup done through DC, the app wont see orphaned media files from a previous install, the only other option would be to use DC's virtual feed feature - http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/1810

Thanks Wayne, I will try

Thanks Wayne, I will try that. However, when I used this previously, the quality of the audio output was very poor.

You would have thought that there would be a setting which could force the app to recognise episodes if they were in the same folder as authentic ones!

The DC Database

You're welcome,
The DC database is what keeps track of which directory has the files for which feed. Without the database (from the backup), DC doesn't know which directory to find the media files in.

For audio quality problems, You should try launching them in the external player by long pressing on the episode & play in external player, to see if the problem is DC or the media file.
