I would like to save and archive some of the articles and podcasts I get via doggcatcher. Is there a function in it for that, which I oversaw or how would you do that?
There a feed option called 'retain expired'. What that will do is keep all the items, even when they are no longer part of the feed. The drawback is that you need to manually delete the items that you don't want, since DC won't be able to delete them automatically any longer.
First of all thanks for a great program its very useful and fast.
Instead of the "retain expired" option would it be possible to get an option where you just tap on the item you want to save and thereby preventing it from being deleted from the automatic delete function.
If the user at a later time whishes to delete the item it could be done manually.
So I think what you are talking about is doing what retain expired does, but do it for an item only, not a whole feed. So you would have a context menu on the item with something like 'keep it' and it would always remain unless you manually deleted it.
Exactly. Most of the time I'm only interested in saving one item not the whole feed and by doing this I don't have to concern myself with the feed as a whole just the items I'm interested in.

Will this work for you?

That's a good idea.

I created an issue for this.
