Bug: unlocking device causes "another app requested audio" - maybe bluetooth only?

DETAILS:
DoggCatcher Version: 1.2.3958
Device: Samsung S2 i9100 - international
Android Build: Cyanogenmod 9.1.0-galaxys2
Carrier: Vodafone UK

SUMMARY: Unlocking devices causes podcast pause - "another app requested audio" - probably bluetooth only

STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
1. Connect to bluetooth headset (I have a Creative speaker unit and a Play IO car kit - happens with both)
2. Start DC
3. Play podcast
4. Leave screen to lock
5. Unlock screen (I've only tested with a pattern unlock
6. Podcast pauses with "another app requested audio"
7. User is annoyed :-)

WHAT HAPPENS: Podcast is paused when unlocking screen (e.g. to check traffic on google maps)

WHAT SHOULD HAPPEN: Podcast should not pause :-)

FREQUENCY: 100% as far as I can tell - always seemed to happen in the car this morning, and was happening last night with my bluetooth speakers

SEVERITY: Serious (although a bit niche)

----------

This is quite a recent problem - I use podcasts a lot in the car and often check the traffic when I'm stopped at a red light. I don't think it was happening last Wednesday. I haven't updated my phone firmware for over a month although a lot of apps did update last week. I think Doggcatcher was one of them so maybe this is in the new version?

I haven't changed anything in

I haven't changed anything in DC related to the lock screen recently. What that message is that another app is requesting audio focus, and thus blocking DC from playing audio. You could take a look at your log, usually the app that is requesting the focus will log something. I would search for "focus" in the log.

Hey, Thanks for your swift

Hey,

Thanks for your swift response.

From what you said I did some more fiddling. Nothing useful appears in the log, just that doggcatcher loses focus, but I think the culprit is the XBMC app YATSE.

It displays a lock screen widget all the time I'm on my home WiFi and I think requests audio focus when the screen is turned on.

The Google play music app isn't affected, perhaps because it had its own lock screen widget that takes precedence?

I'll pursue the issue with them, thanks :-)

For some reason, even though I have the option enabled, I've never seen lock screen buttons for doggcatcher. Perhaps because I'm using a PIN?

re: pin, could be. We've had

re: pin, could be. We've had some other users have problems with the lock screen when the pin is enabled.

Glad you got it narrowed down.
