Video is a second class citizen.

This is my biggest problem with the app. Here is how video playback should work. When you close the app, video should begin playing as audio in the background. When the app is reloaded, the video should start again. The widget should know what video you are playing currently.

Also, the Audio and Video tabs either need to be merged, or a new tab needs to be created.
I just want to see all my podcasts in one list, sorted by the most recent one downloaded.

This doesn't directly touch

This doesn't directly touch on the actual experience of viewing video podcasts. While a video is playing I need to be able to switch to the camera app. While I'm doing this I would like to still hear the audio, the video currently just pauses and it is very frustrating.

There should be a setting that's something like "continue video as audio when application is closed".

Currently the only option to

Currently the only option to play video in the background is to press on the context button (Triangle right of the episode) select play as audio.
I imagine Eric will figure out a option for the scenario you describe to continue video playback as audio when application is closed or switching to another app.
