All feeds vanished; preferences remain

I've been using doggcatcher for a year with no problems, and have subscribed to tons of feeds. But yesterday when I logged on it looked like they were all missing; there were only a handful left and I believe those were the handful that were pre-loaded when I first joined (Freakonomics, This American Life, etc). My preferences seem to have survived, for example I changed the global setting of number of episodes to 100, and that's still there.

Is there a chance that I just accidentally mashed the phone in my pocket in some catastrophic sequence that could have deleted all my feeds? Seems really unlikely. And if they have in fact all been deleted, is there any way to recover them? I never saved a backup of my configurations...but maybe there's a way to see what happened through a log?

Mostly I'd just like to understand why this happened, so if I do go through the pain of resubscribing/calibrating/categorizing all my feeds, I can make sure it never happens again.

Thanks!

sorry, I meant to say in the OP that I had tried clearing the filter and nothing came back. And I think more evidence that they're actually gone is that I was able to re-add a few feeds that I had already been subscribed to before this happened.

Sorry about that. Run a backup (in the DC Menu) once month, so the next time this happens, you can restore feeds & settings.

Your feeds are kept in a database on the device. Very rarely, the database will become corrupt, and DC will create a new one. I usually hear about this once every month or two, so while it's rare, as you experienced, it's extremely inconvenient.

Sorry that it happened to you.
