Backup/Restore Issues

Where is the internal storage location for DC on a Galaxy Nexus? Backup/Restore states that the backup location is /storage/sdcard0/DoggCatcher/Export/, but when I try to backup my config, it states that the 'device will backup to internal storage'. If I reinstall DC and try to restore from this location, feeds are restored but no other settings (Feed Updates, Global Feed Options etc.) are not. Really frustrating as it doesn't even save the downloads for my feeds and starts to download the last 10. Help!

It's on the to do list (See

It's on the to do list (See http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=1023 ) to make the backup directory configurable, in the meantime you could use a cloud service like Google Drive, Drop Box app & backup DC's settings (Export Folder) by locating DC's backup location (In the DC Menu, More, Backup/Restore)

I would love to use Google

I would love to use Google Drive, the problem is I don't know what gets backed up an where. It states that it is using Internal Storage, but I'm not sure where that is. Under the Export folder (under sdcard0/Doggcatcher), I have the following:

databases
done.txt
shared_prefs

Under databases, is a file called rss, which I assume is my feeds. Under shared_prefs, I have _has_set_default_values.xml, _preferences.xml & DOGG_CATCHER_PREFERENCES.xml. When I do a re-install, those folders/files still exists so I'm not sure why everything doesn't get restored properly.

That information is the feeds

That information is the feeds database and configuration needed to restore your settings, feeds, preferences & playlists. DC does not backup media files. The Galaxy Nexus doesn't use a external SD card, DC will backup to internal storage. The storage location should be /sdcard/DoggCatcher/Export & can be verified (In the DC Menu,Backup/Restore). If you uninstall/re-install DC for some reason or some other issue happens & backed up DC's export folder to Google Drive, Drop Box, using a file manager, copy the folder to DC's backup location & restore your settings.

User guild article posted in the forum http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/1900.

So what's happening is that

So what's happening is that the feeds database is getting restored, but your preferences are not. I had the same thing happen me on my gnexus and I didn't dig into why it happened yet. I'm guessing it has more to do with jellybean than the device but I don't know for sure yet.

The preferences are stored in shared_prefs, so that folder contents needs to get copied onto your internal storage. If you have root, you should be able to do the copy manually but without it you're going to be stuck since you won't have rights to write to that area of the internal storage.

I created a bug for this - http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=1488

I'm not sure this is an issue

I'm not sure this is an issue with the location of where the backup stores its file but with DC itself. The 'internal storage' seems to be mapped to the same location as external. I checked the files of both locations and they are exactly the same. More than likely just a symbolic link as per Root Explorer.

External Storage: <--symbolic link
/sdcard/DoggCatcher/Export

Internal Storage (sdcard):
/storage/sdcard0/DoggCatcher/Export
