I read in the DoggCatcher FAQ that some podcasts don't contain the correct length of the podcast file, so DC displays "Unknown". I have some podcasts that display (in DC) things like:
"9 hours ago / 6 MB / mp3" (http://www.700wlw.com/podcast/jim_scott.xml)
"3 days ago / 25 MB / mp3 / 40" (http://www.700wlw.com/podcast/bill_cunningham.xml)
Is this the same as displaying "Unknown"?
Can DC check the length of the MP3 file itself, or does it have to rely on the XML file to get the length? Or some metadata embedded in the MP3 file?
Thanks!
the first one means it was posted or published 9 hours ago, the size of file is 6MB & type of file MP3.
It's on the to do list for DC to calculate total runtime of new media ( See http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=47 ) for feeds that don't provide or display the length of the podcast file/episode
