I've been using DoggCatcher for a bit over a month now on a Galaxy Nexus. The latest update (mid-August) has created what I consider a bug.
For video podcasts, whenever I change the phone's orientation from portrait to landscape, the video stops playing and jumps back to the menu. If I start playing the video after I change the orientation, then it will play fine in that orientation.
This behavior was not present before the latest update. If this could be addressed and corrected, I would be grateful as most of the podcasts I view/listen to are video and I have to restart them whenever the phone is rotated.
As a side note, a feature request is to have the audio from a video podcast play when the screen is locked/off. (if this is technically possible, i do not know the limitations of android on this point)
I'd say this is a JB bug. I see this on my Samsung S3 with the CM10 rom loaded up.
It's a bug, see http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=1447 to be fixed on a future update of DoggCatcher.
I'm hoping to get this fix out this friday, if not the next friday.
Has anyone else had this problem?
There are 2 podcasts that I listen to that go back 3 to 5 years and every episode can still be downloaded. I recently had to clear out and re-build my feed list and these 2 feeds want to start over from the beginning instead of just downloading the newest available episode.

My preferences for downloading are to display latest 10 episodes and delete when done. I have also tried changing these setting for each of those feeds with no results. The downrange radio feed goes back for 64 months to 2007. I really want to avoid downloading all of 250+ episodes just to get to the newest one.
How do I fix this?
Thanks,
leroyh
I've also tried setting them to show 300 so they all appear and flagging them all as done, but it goes back to the oldest again anyway.
Down Range Feed settings
Number of episodes - 10
Play Order - Oldest first
Episode Identifier - GUID
Make Filenames Unique - enable
Full Fetch - enable
First episode downloaded was Down Range Radio 277 published 6 days ago.
Tolkien Professor Feed Settings
Number of episodes - 10
Play Order - Oldest first
Episode Identifier - GUID
Full Fech - enable
First episode downloaded was Riddles in the Dark 11: published 20 days ago, but for some reason with these settings this is only episode listed?
See if this works for you
The settings worked perfectly for the Down Range pod cast. The Tolkien Prof is showing me only Riddles in the Dark 11 as well. Maybe that will change when they publish more.
Is it something about how the feeds are configured?
Thanks,
LeRoy
You're welcome, do you mean how The Tolkien feed is configured? if so yes, press on the context button (Triangle Right of the feed) scroll down & select diagnostics, it will tell you feed options that need to be set & oldest first usually features the newest episode first.
