New User - couple of Q's

Apologies if these are silly Q's.

Using a Samsung Galaxy S3 phone.

I cannot see how you get to a "General options" page where you can set defaults for all podcasts such as how many episodes to download, whether to auto delete or not, etc. Along the top of homepage I get "Feeds, Playing, Audio, Video, News". I can see that you can change the settings for each feed by long tapping on name of podcast but how do you set same setting for all feeds without doing them all individually.

Secondly, auto delete does not seem to work. Have flagged a lot of podcasts as "done". This has worked as they have the grey bar down left hand side of episode name. And I have set auto delete option as "all done episodes". And I have made sure that "retain expired" is NOT checked. However, the podcasts marked as done do NOT delete when I update my feeds. How and when are they supposed to delete after being checked as done?

Hey Gazza, to set global

Hey Gazza, to set global settings, make sure you're not viewing a single feed (so be in the feeds screen or Playing screen), click on the menu button (the soft key to the left of the home button on your phone), and click on preferences from the pop up menu. Those settings will be the default for all of your podcast feeds. You can then click on individual feeds and over ride those settings if you like, but if you do not, the global settings will be used.

I can't help with the second issue, I don't use auto delete, so I'm not sure how that's supposed to work, but it does sound like it's not working correctly for you.

To find global feed options

To find global feed options settings (In DC Menu,Preferences,Global Feed Options) Auto downloads settings is at least 3 or 5. - Number of episodes 3, 5 or number you would like - Auto delete policy set to all done - Play order set to default.

Auto-delete will delete the

Auto-delete will delete the media file but you'll still see the episode listed in DC. Are you seeing the media files remain after updating the feeds?

Does the auto-delete not

Does the auto-delete not delete "text" podcast (not sure if that's the correct terminology)? If I increase the "Number of episodes/articles", which determines the number to show on the feed's screen, it quickly shows the articles. I wasn't sure if it just downloaded them that quick, or if they were actually still there, but not displayed. Granted text doesn't take as much space, but I wouldn't want them building up over time.

We store what the publisher

We store what the publisher provides as the content of the episode description, but that can vary greatly depending on the publisher. We take some measure to make sure those take as little memory as possible.

Once the episodes roll off the old end (older than your number of episodes feed option), they are completely removed from the device.
