Since the upgrade to Cupcake Doggcatcher has developed a very frustrating quirk. If I am listening to a podcast and a new email or message arrives, instead of playing the notification sound, the podcast cuts out and all I hear is a hissing/scratching sound. The player continues as if nothing is wrong--I can fast-forward, pause, rewind, or start playing a different podcast--but there is no sound. I have to reboot my phone to get Doggcatcher to play podcasts properly again.
In other words, if the phone tries to make a notification sound while a podcast is playing Doggcatcher breaks until I reboot my phone.
Has anyone else experienced this? If so, is there a fix? It is driving me crazy!
...DoggCatcher will pause while the notification sound plays, then continue after the sound stops. I'm running an ADP1 with the JF 1.5 ROM.
I don't see (hear) either of these issues. When on the headphones or listening through the speaker, I hear the notification sound play concurrently with the podcast. When listening through A2DP, the notification plays over the speaker while playback of the podcast continues over bluetooth.
I'm using the stock US 1.5 firmware.
I'm also on the stock 1.5 and the audio alerts play on top of DC audio without problems.
I believe this is the normal behavior and is what I observed before upgrading to ADP1/JF1.5. Updating to JF1.51 did not fix anything either.
What Kernel/Build are you using?
The about phone screen says:
Kernel 2.6.27-00392-g8312baf (jesusfrek@AndroidDev).
Build dream_devphone_userdebug 1.5 CRB21 147201 test-keys
I haven't yet updated to 1.51 since I've had to wipe for every single update up to now and I haven't been up to it so far.
I have exactly the same info except mine is CRB43. So strange that I have this (horrible) bug.
