audio starts looping and phone completley locks

Many times now on my new nexus (ice cream sandwich) the audio starts looping - over about half a second, then after 10-15 secs the phone shuts down and needs the battery removed to get it restarted. This has happened both with the screen on and off. Today it seemed to be triggered while playing music, Dogcatcher started to update feeds and lock up time.

That's going to be a problem

That's going to be a problem with android or more likely the audio driver for the device. When apps misbehave, the apps can crash. If the device is crashing then there's a more severe underlying problem in the operating system or device drivers. This is pretty commonly associated with DC since DC is playing audio (through the audio driver) when the problems occur.

Thanks for posting.

Maybe but don't think so

Thanks Eric,
Sounds plausible but I am not sure. I play the Audible app and Music for many hours at a time and it has never happened, only when DC is active or starts up in the background to check the feeds. Have now disabled the 'Start up when the phone starts' option. Which is a nuisance as it means basically manual feed updates.

Are you able to interact with

Are you able to interact with the device while this is happening? If you can send a log (in the dc menu), we might be able to figure out what's going on.

INteraction

No, when this happens the phone is a brick! I have to remove and replace the battery to get it going again. The App Log is pretty much empty, just has the time and date that todays feed upadtes are happening, which is when I started the App. Have used the menu to send the log to support anyway under the subject Forum 2603

Your original assessment may yet prove correct as this did happen yesterday when music was playing, but I ma not sure if DC was also running. Am going to try ensuring that it is not playing and then run the music for several hours.

Thanks for the help
