Up until just recently (I think the most recent update, but am not for sure) the "Audio" tab no longer sorts my podcasts. Previously it would put my podcasts newest to oldest from top to bottom, mixing the different feeds. Lately I can to figure out how exactly it is sorting them.
I have tried toggling the different Global Play Order settings, Feed Play Settings, and Audio sorting options to no avail. Does the "Publish Date" play into the Audio Tab sorting. It appears that most of my podcasts do not have them (though most have a date in the title). Also I have noticed not all the different podcast are grouped by feed, even if I am set "All-Sorted by date". This was not the case before I started having the problem.
Thanks
If you want grouped by feed, you need to do "All - Sorted by feed/date".
Can't answer definitively about the sorting by date when publish date isn't set.
Assuming that the playlist select is "all - sorted by feed date", the episodes on the audio tab will be first grouped by feed, and then sorted within each feed. The order of the feeds is determined by how they are ordered on the feeds tab (can be changed by long pressing and move). The in-feed sorting depends on how the feed is configured in terms of the feed option - play order. Using the default will leave the order set by the publisher. If one of the date sorts are configured, then we'll use the date provided by the publisher, which like you say, may or may not be there.
With all the settings left at the default, that playlist will group by feeds and then play the oldest first within each feed.
Thanks for posting.
so is it possible to have the playlist sorted just by date, regardless of feed (ie all podcasts mixed together)? I could have sworn that it was like that before, maybe I am mistaken...
Yep, on the audio tab click on the playlist button (top right) and then select "all - sorted by date".
