"Delete oldest" is no longer in the auto-delete policy

On this page:
http://www.doggcatcher.com/node/1756

Titled "Common Feed Configuration Scenarios"
I'm trying to implement Scenario 2, which says:

I want to always have the 3 most items auto-downloaded and for any items older than the most recent 3 to be deleted (even if they are not flagged as done).
Auto-downloads: 3
Auto delete policy: Delete oldest

But I don't see that "Delete oldest" setting in my available options. I see:

  • Use global setting
  • None
  • As space is needed
  • All done episodes
  • Keep most recent X...

I have chosen the last option "Keep most recent X..." and set the Auto-downloads to 3. And I am using the system playlist called "All - sorted by feed/date". I expected this configuration would achieve the same thing that was laid out above. But it's not. Instead it's leaving the 3 downloaded episodes in my playlist and not downloading any new content until one of the 3 downloads is marked as done.
I'm using DC Version 1.2.3131 on a Motorola Droid Bionic running Android version 2.3.4 (build number 5.5.1_84_DBN-71), with Verizon Wireless. Am I missing something?

Sorry for the long delay in

Sorry for the long delay in responding to this post, this one slipped through the cracks.

I updated the "Common Feed Configuration Scenarios" post to reflect the latest terminology in the app - "Keep latest x..."

You are selecting the correct auto-delete policy for what you are trying to do.

Can you please verify that the play order for the feed is at the default setting and then refresh that feed. What I expect is that after refreshing, only the top few episodes will be downloaded and all others below that will not be.

Let me know once you're at this spot, and we'll go from there working on the playlist.
