I have my auto download set to every 2 hours. Do I need to set the option to start Doggcatcher on boot up so that it's running in order to run the auto download schedule or will it just do its thing in the background without ever having launched the app?
Yep, you do. I made a note to add a message in the UI to let you know this when you select an update interval without setting it to start on boot.
Thanks for pointing that out.
Thanks for the reply! After I reboot I get a notification in the notifications area that DC updates its feeds, however I would expect to see it in the task manager under "Active applications" afterwards, but I don't. Does it need to be actively running to perform its scheduled updates?
Sometimes android will kill doggcatcher to run other apps but that ok. We set an alarm to wake DC back up when it's time to update the feeds.
Cool, thanks!
