I enjoy listening to audio files ripped from BBC iPlayer "listen again" radio streams using an application called "Get_iplayer" in Windows.
The saved audio files are tagged "ADTS (.aac)"
These files play back in the standard Android Music player- though when opened there is a lag of about 5 seconds of a black screen until playback starts (on a Samsung Galaxy S, Android 2.2.3) (unlike .mp3 files which play immediately)
These programmes are usually at least 30 mins long - so I really wanted the convenience of remembering the last played position offered by the Doggcatcher Virtual Feed.
I use a few .mp3 files in the Virtual feed without any problems.
However when these .aac files are added to my Virtual Feed I get the error message:
"This is not supported audio or video"
Like I say- these files play ok in the Android music player ok- though they do take a while to open.
I have tried changing Doggcast to play from the External player but I get the same error message.
That's strange that the files play in the android music player but not when you launch to the external player within DC since DC is using an embedded android media player.
Can you email one of the files to support at doggcatcher.com and I'll check it out.
Thanks.
Eric- I've emailed you a short example file with comments.
Any thoughts?
regards
Mark
I haven't had a chance to look at it yet, but I'll get back to you soon. Sorry for the delay.
OK Many thanks
This is fixed and will be released in the release after next - http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=1036
I haven't tested it with aac with drm on it, so if it causes problems, we may have to yank the feature, but we'll give it a shot.
That's fantastic. I look forward to the release after next. Thanks for your time
