Android error -17

I am running android froyo ec05 and I can't play podcasts right now because I keep getting an error. Any ideas on a fix?

Audio files

There are a couple article in the faq to try out.

http://www.doggcatcher.com/faq

In particular the 'Why can't I play a particular..' and 'Why do audio files fail'.

Android error -17

I get this when trying to play podcasts too. After two or three days when I start Doggcatcher in the morning I get the Android error -17 and no audio. According to the FAQ it looks like Android's problem, not Doggcatcher. This makes sense to me as when I come to think about it, Some videos I have on my phone wont play either at these times. In my case it seems the only fix so far seems to be a reboot. Painful on a Samsung Galaxy with it's lengthy reboot period.

T-Mobile Galaxy S Vibrant, running 2.2 Froyo, rooted.

Yep, if a reboot fixes a media player problem, then the problem is outside of doggcatcher. I don't see any solutions to this other than possibly contacting your carrier and putting pressure on them to fix it or install a custom rom if there's one available for your device.

reboot

Given that Android is based on Linux, shouldn't there be some way to reload the audio subsystem without having to reboot the phone?

Possibly but not through the standard apis, so it would be pretty risky messing around with it. Maybe someone could write an app for that :-)
