Questions from a new user

Hi, just bought the app after a lot of deliberation between this an Beyondpod. Beyond has the 7 day trial which is nice. I liked it, but decided to take a gamble on Doggcatcher since it has such great reviews. I have a few questions that maybe Eric or someone can help me out with. Can't figure out if I am overlooking things, or if the options just aren't there.

1) Is there no way to keep say "5 latest podcasts" from each feed? Under "auto delete policy" I see the option to "keep most recent," but it sounds like that would only keep 1? This is somewhat of a big deal for me... I often listen to half of my podcasts on my phone and finish them only computer at work, so if I set doggcatcher to only delete "done" podcasts, I will basically be managing that myself.

2) Is there a way to view the text that comes along with the feed (i.e. show notes)?

3) Is the only way to toggle whether to stream or download by going to menu -> preferences -> audio player -> and toggling streaming on/off there? It would be nice if there were stream and download buttons with each feed.

Other (less important) suggestions:

Make the skip forward and skip backward times independently customizable. (i.e. I'd like to use 30 sec skip forward for commercials and 10 sec skip backwards, usually because I missed something that was just said).

Make option for the widget to have "skip ahead" button instead of "skip to next podcast."

Make an option to set a different update time for each podcast (so I could set each feed to update about an hour after new podcasts are typically posted).

Thanks in advance for any input

1 - Yep, keep most recent when you have auto-delete set to 5 will keep the most recent 5.

2 - You can long press on an item and then press description. I currently working on a now playing screen which will show the show notes in an easier way.

3 - You can long press on an item and press stream (if it hasn't been downloaded). So it's an item by item basis, if you want to do something than the default that you have set in the preferences.

Skip - Got it on the todo list.

Update time - Also on the list.

Thanks for posting.

Thanks eric, that was

Thanks eric, that was helpful. As a new android user, I keep forgetting about the long press… I didn’t even think to try that when I was trying to figure this stuff out on my own.
