Virtual feed update fails

I loaded an MP3 file as a virtual feed on my Samsung Intercept. (I do this regularly, and it's worked so far.) The file is in the folder, but when the feed updates, I get a message that the download failed, cause "unknown." The file is 279 mb, which is much much larger than the files I've loaded previously. Could that be the problem? It's an eAudiobook I downloaded from a library. -Stuart

Error msg?

What's the error message? You should be able to grab it by clicking the details link on the item.

error message

Thanks for the reply. When I click the details link, I get an Application Event Log popup:
Event: Download
Result: Failure
Description: America%2c_1908_the_Dawn_o.mp3 (that's the filename)
Detail: java.net.MalformedURLException: Protocol not found: America%2c_1908_the_Dawn_o.mp3
Cause: Unknown

Could the filename be the problem? Should I rename it without the % in it?

Try renaming the file to

Try renaming the file to simple text (keeping the .mp3 extension).

Filenames

JNavas' suggestion should work fine. I actually just created an issue for virtual feeds with apostrophe's in the filenames.

It seems like I need to be handling these a little differently. I just updated it to reference this post.

Good app

You're welcome. I like the app, and how it keeps getting better.

Same Error

I am getting a similar error, but without the .mp3 part. Mine shows the exact same error except after "Protocol not found" it shows ":row[filename]". This feed was working fine a week ago, but they put out a new episode a couple of days ago and I have been getting this error ever since (even on the previous episode I was able to download).

Any ideas?

KT

The problem you are

The problem you are experiencing is not related to a virtual feed right, you mention that the publisher added another episode?
