update feeds should re-queue failed downloads

topic says it all. i frequently have failed queues and it's just easier to requeue them if was able to just "update feeds" again as opposed to finding the podcast that failed.

You're absolutely right

It should - created an issue - http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=725.

In the mean time, if you go to the download queue screen, there's a button that adds all the failed downloads to the queue.

Re-queuing failed downloads

1. You might want to also make "Re-queue failed downloads" a main menu option --
I didn't realize it was available on the Download screen for some time,
had wasted much time finding and re-queuing failed items one by one manually.

2. I wouldn't want failed downloads to be re-queued fully automatically
because of the danger of getting into an endless failure loop.

1. as with most things, it's

1. as with most things, it's not that i'm unable to requeue... but refreshing again combines the task of requeuing and downloading new podcasts in 1 step. update feeds is also quicker to access than to menu dive into the requeue failed downloads.

2. by default DC stops after 5 tries so i don't see the endless failure loop occurring.

Re-queuing usability issues

1. I'd like to have re-queuing as a main menu item, and have entered a Feature Request to that effect.

2. While the download loop isn't actually endless, 5 retries can consume a great deal of resources when a lot of downloads are failing. I personally would prefer only a single retry before needing explicit re-queuing.

1 - I agree. I don't like

1 - I agree. I don't like actions to be buried in screens some place where people can't find them. I think it's ok to have some redundancy but all the actions (and preferences like auto-play) should be accessible in the first place people will look....menus/preferences. Created issue - http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=727

2 - Yeh, I'm not sure how to do this conditionally...maybe a preference for people that don't want it to happen at all.
