Video Podcast Thumbnails In Gallery

Hello,

I'm a new DoggCatcher user. I like how DoggCatcher creates thumbnail images for each video/audio podcast, but I don't like that they show up in the regular picture gallery on my phone. Is there a way to prevent these thumbnails from displaying in the Gallery, and only used in DoggCatcher?

Thanks!

It shouldn't display podcast

It shouldn't display podcast images in the gallery as each folder has a .nomedia file in it. You could check manually and if it doesn't, create one.

You are correct, there is a .nomedia file in each of the folders (my device is the F drive):

F:\DoggCatcher\PodcastImages\{podcast number}\

Each of these folders appears in my gallery on my EVO 4G though. I'm looking at them on my phone as I type this. Any thoughts?

Thanks!

Looks like I made a mistake.

Looks like I made a mistake. It's the actual content files that are appearing in the gallery. Looks like the configuration option called "Shared Media" is the answer. I disabled it and it added the .nomedia files to the actual content folders. Perfect. Not sure why it had to wipe all the podcast video/audio files though. It's now redownloading them all from the web (bummer).

Sharing media

That preference only drops those .nomedia files but doesn't have any effect on the media files themselves. It's possible that mounting the phone to the pc made the files invisible to dc, and that's what caused them to download again, because it couldn't see them on the sd card. I had put some protection in dc for that so it wouldn't add media to the queue when the sd card wasn't available. I'll check it out to make sure it's working properly.

Ok, I made a mistake. It's not the podcast thumbails appearing in the gallery. It's the actual podcast content files. I added the .nomedia files to each of the folders in the following location:

F:\DoggCatcher\EpisodeEnclosures\

and they all disappeared from the gallery. This is exactly what I wanted.

Is there a configuration option in DoggCatcher that will prevent the podcast content from showing up in the gallery? I think of the gallery as just a place for pictures. I don't want to look at a bunch of podcast folders, that are numerically named, in my gallery. I guess I can always manually add the .nomedia file as I add new podcasts to DoggCatcher, but a config option would be nice (maybe it's already there. I'll do some more digging).

Thanks!

Looks like it's the Shared Media option. Sorry to bother everyone. Total newb here.

On another note, I disabled the "Shared Media" option, rebooted the phone, and all the files were gone completely. DoggCatcher is now redownloading them from the Internet (that's kind of a bummer). I see that Dogg Catcher added the .nomedia file to these folders now though. Why did the files have to be completely wiped? I manually added the .nomedia files earlier, and it just worked.
