I would like to request a new podcast update option.
It is what older version of snoggdoggler used to do prior to "Podcast update interval" functionality is introduced.
Instead of have snoggdoggler check for update every x hours, I would prefer for it to conserve battery and only check update and download when I launch/active snoggdoggler.
I suppose it should be a new option "When Launch/Active" in the "Podcast update interval".
Keep up the good work. I hope you can keep the cost for paid version low since the community have been helping you test/suggest functionality to snoggdoggler. thanks.
Prior to having a configurable update interval what DoggCatcher was doing was checking every x amount of hours (I think 6) but it just wasn't configurable.
You may be able to achieve close to what you want by setting the update interval to 72 hrs, and then do a manual update when you launch. The 72 hr interval should not put to much drain on the battery as you're not likely to make it that long without a charge. An update will occur automatically each time you Launch DoggCatcher (if it's not already running).
We do owe a lot to the participants on this site. We'll try to think of a way to make this right.
Thanks for the feedback.
That is basically what i'm doing right now, setting the update interval to 72 hours and then do a manual update when I launch each time - it is a bit annoying.
Are you saying the current build will automatically update all podcast cast each time I launch or active the doggcatcher? I just tried it and it wasn't doing the auto update when i bring the app to foreground.
It will only do an automatic update when launched when it's not already running. It may be possible to add a setting such that you can configure it to auto-update when bring DC to the foreground, would that work?
