Sort order seems backwards for playlist

Unfortunately, at the moment the sort order in the "Audio" and "Video" playlists is the opposite of what I'd like.

I have some podcasts I subscribe to where the entire half-hour episode is actually split up into separate MP3 files for each topic discussed during that episode - an "individual topics" feed. An example is:

http://www.abc.net.au/am/rss/amrssi.xml

The RSS file indicates the correct times for entries as they're broadcast. If you listen to these in chronological order ordered by the times, you hear the whole episode as you would on the radio.

However, in Doggcatcher the playlist has these items displayed in reverse order, with the latest (last) part of the episode to play first, and the first (earliest) part of the episode to play last, so you are in effect starting with the latest entry and then moving on to older entries.

I'd like to listen to these in chronological order by date/time, starting with the oldest entry and moving on to the newest, and there seems to be no way to do this currently except to turn off autoplay and select each one manually after the previous one ends.

Maybe there is some option I'm missing.

Thanks in advance for your help.

Ah looks like there is an

Ah looks like there is an option to do this in feed options, though it's marked "EXPERIMENTAL". I'll try that, but am a bit uneasy/curious as to why it's marked experimental...

Edit: looks like this works how I want it if I set it to "Date (Newest first)".

I hope this feature doesn't change or get removed in future as it does exactly what I need.

Experimental

It was labeled that way because it's a new feature that I wasn't sure about how it was going to go once people tried it with different feeds. It seems to be working ok for people, so it'll most likely stick around.

Works for me also, but...

First up, apologies for resurrecting and old thread, but this seems like the right place to add a comment.

I have been told on more than one occasion that my head is on backwards - I have a tendency to approach problems from unusual directions, so what I consider intuitive and logical can seem back to front to other people.

This may be another example of that tendency, but to me it seems that the naming of the sort order options is counter intuitive: if I have a sort order called "Date (Newest first)", I expected it to play the newest episodes first, but it actually plays the oldest episode first, (which is actually what I wanted, but until I found this thread I didn't think to try it).

Also...
The order on the screen made sense once I realised the list plays from the bottom up, but I kinda expected the item at the top of the list to be played first.

Just my 2c - now I have figured out how to get my podcasts playing chronologically I am very happy with the app.

BTW, in case you wanted to know:
Phone: Nexus One
Carrier: Vodafone NZ
Android Version 2.2.1 (not Jail-broken)
Build Number FRG83D
Doggcatcher Version 1.1.1789

Sort order

Yep, it's a little confusing. The sort order determines the order that the items are displayed from top down. So newest first is usually the same as default (for almost all feeds). The audio playlist is displayed in the opposite order which causes some confusion.
