This NPR Hours News podcast used to automatically download fine. (at least a few version ago - prior to the concept of new item was introduce).
Now, it never automatically download the ONE episode due to it never considers it as NEW. I always have to click it to download it manual. The RSS XML only return one (latest) episode.
Setting:
* Max number of episodes: 1
* Max number of enclosures to download: 1
I've seen this same thing with another podcast. What they seem to have in common is that there is only one episode and the title is always the same. When we check for updates, we check the titles of the episodes we have against the ones in the rss feed. Since the title never changes, it looks like the same episode.
I'll add this to the bug list.

I just finished the work for this, it will be in the next release.
It will be under feed options/item identifier - you want to pick 'filename'. I tested it with your feed and it works fine.

This issue still a daily annoyance to me since I have to manually download new episode every update.
