Remove Notification after done playing

Okay, so I'm new to Android and new to Doggcatcher, so hopefully this isn't too stupid of a question.

After I finish listening to a podcast in Doggcatcher, and I decide to go open up the Music app and listen to some music, it really bugs me that I still see a Doggcatcher Ongoing Notification in the top bar. I could exit the application, but then it won't update my feeds tonight if I forget to re-open it.

This seems like the kind of thing that a "stop" button would achieve, but there is no stop button.

Suggestions? Am I doing it wrong?

It shouldn't behave like

It shouldn't behave like that. I had it happen to me once, but it was fixed after installing a different version. Are you using the latest version of the app?

That play icon should disappear from the notification bar when the podcast ends or is paused.

Ongoing notification

Do you remember what the notification was...it could have been the play icon or the dogg with some text description in notication?

There might be a bug leaving the notification running (if exiting the app clears the notification) or it could be an android bug (if the notification remains after the app has exited).

Either way, you can exit DC. The alarm to refresh the feed will re-launch the app. The only way you would miss updates is if you restarted the phone and don't have the 'start on boot' preference set.

Wait, so if I exit

Wait, so if I exit Doggcatcher, it will still refresh the feeds at night? That's fantastic. I didn't know that.

Also, I can't seem to get the issue to replicate today, but I'm sure I've seen it more than just yesterday. I'll update this thread if I see it again soon.

And yeah, it was just the "Play" icon, as if the podcast was still running.

Play icon

Cool, let me know if you know what conditions cause it, I created an issue for this - http://mantis.snoggdoggler.com/view.php?id=587
