Multiple Playlists
I realize this is a big feature considering all the management around it, but I am going to ask for it anyway.
I'd like the ability to have multiple playlists or "channels" that are a set of feeds grouped together.
Basis: I like listening to tech podcasts and do so everyday on the way to and from work. My wife does not. I'd like to have a set of podcasts (a channel) that I can switch to of items she does enjoy ("Wait wait, don't tell me", TAL, Radio Lab, etc.) Sometimes I might be in the mood for comedy and if I could have a comedy channel, that would be awesome. I really view DC as an alternative to radio and have come to see it as programming my own radio station.
Features:
- Individual feeds could be in multiple play lists (and potentially in a different order on each one). Individual items in the list would maintain new/listened state regardless of which play list they were played on. (If you listed to a particular show on one channel, you wouldn't need to listen to it again (or skip it) on another channel.)
- A channel management screen would need to be available and the play list sorting and categorization would need to be overhauled. It should be easy to add or remove feeds from individual play lists. And easier to sort the feeds. (Long Press, Move, Move Up is too many clicks to move a feed one (or 5) position)
- Play mode would let you easily switch to a different channel.
Those are some good ideas. They fall under the user managed playlist issue that I have. I added a reference in the issue to this post.

I would definitely like to see feed categories that you could place on each feed. The each category would essentially 'be' a playlist, pretty much as you describe.

How about using Categories/Labels for Playlists instead of creating another paradigm? I'd like to be able to auto-play a Category/Label without continuing outside that Category/Label.
This is the one feature that I truly miss from "podtrapper" on my blackberry. This feature would make podtrapper to me the only podcast app I would ever touch.
The suggestion in this thread focuses on putting feeds in a playlist and being able to order those feeds. I hope that when this is considered under issue 41 in the release after next, the ability to add individual episodes regardless of which feed they are in can be manually added to a playlist, and the order of those episodes can be manually changed, without regard to any sort. I may want to listen to BOL episode 1345 followed by BOL episode 1347 followed by Tech News Today episode 87 followed by BOL episode 1344. I should be able to build a specific playlist just like that, perhaps by long-pressing each of the episodes and using the resulting pop-up menu to "add to playlist". After pressing "add to playlist" a list of playlists pop up that I select for adding the episode to.

Yep, there are going to be a few different types of playlists to select from in the end. A manual playlist, like you are suggesting will be one of the supported options. I'm not sure exactly which release it will fall into, but it been asked for quite a few times and will happen.
