Group By Feed Sort By Date

I would love to see my download playlist first sorted or grouped by Feed then by date time so that those feeds I have placed at the top always play before a feed lower in the list with a newer create date.

Here is an example

Feed 1
01-10-2010
12-12-2009
11-12-2009
Feed 2
01-10-2010
12-12-2009
11-12-2009
Feed 3
01-10-2010
12-12-2009
11-12-2009
*My purpose behind this request is to listen to all recordings on those feeds I find more appealing vs all feeds with latest content.

Playlist sort

The default sort (feed/date) places the feed in the order that you have them on the home screen. You can re-order them by pressing on a feed and moving them up/down.

The sub-sort on date is actually the reverse of what you are asking for so that you would listen to the items in the order that they were published.

it seems that the 'group by

it seems that the 'group by feed' option in the playlist is always enabled.
if i change it from 'sorted by feed/date' to 'sorted by date' the order of the playlist does not change (gouped by podcast).

i would love to have my plalist by publishing date, independent from the feed.

maybe i'm doing something wrong here ...

Possibly not

Other users have reported problems with the date sort. Can you try flipping the sort from and to date sort, and then send the log. The sort is probably failing for some reason.

date sort - any chance ...

hi,

any chance this issue can be resolved in the next release? i see that you've been pushing this bug for the last three releases.
i really need the sorting to function properly.

thanks

I haven't been able to reproduce it

I had one other user that I was working with that was experiencing it, but they aren't any longer...that's why it has been moving forward in releases.

What I would need to start with is a log file from right after you switch to sorted by date. I hope to see an error in there.

If you are able to consistently reproduce it I might want to get a backup of your feed database, so I can hopefully reproduce it on an emulator.

Thanks for the help.

i added a few podcasts since i sent you the first log file a few weeks ago, but then again: it never worked for me.

Feeds

After you run a backup, your feeds database will be in the DoggCatcher/Export directory

Backup

EDIT: thanks pete, I just saw your post

You would have to do a backup (in the dc menu) and then send the file called "rss".

The file is in /sdcard/doggcatcher/export/databases

If you can do this, I would appreciate it.

Thanks.

I am getting the sort failed

I am getting the sort failed problem as well. The log file said the comparitor failed its contract (or something). I sent the logfile to you.

Sort failed

I've been working with a user who has a test build that seems to have fixed this.

If you're interested in trying it, let me know and I'll email it to you.
