Media Player
Integrated Player
Play an audio media file with the integrated player by pressing on the item. From that point, you can use the Media Player buttons to control the audio.
Current media file
The title of the media file that is currently loaded is displayed just above the seekbar.
Seekbar
Quickly jump to any point in a media file by pressing on the seekbar. There is a preference to control how/if the seekbar responds to presses.
Play/pause
Play or pause the currently loaded media file.
When audio is playing, a play icon will be displayed in the notifications pane that can be used to quickly return to DoggCatcher.
The headset button will pause/play audio if configured in the preferences.
Rewind
Rewind a number of seconds in the media file. This is configurable in the preferences.
Fast Forward
Fast forward a number of seconds in the media file. This is configurable in the preferences.
Next
The next button is generally used to flag the currently playing media file as done and then start playing the next media file in the audio playlist.
The behavior can vary though depending on some other conditions.
Auto-play ON
If no item is loaded into the media player, the first item in the audio playlist will start to play.
If an item is loaded into the media player, the currently loaded item will be flagged as done and the next item in the audio playlist will start to play.
Auto-play OFF
If the currently loaded item is in progress, if will flag it as done. The next item will be loaded into the media player but it will NOT start. You can press play at this point to play it.
Android Music Player
When Episodes complete downloading, DoggCatcher triggers Android to scan the media that was just downloaded. This makes audio (or video) files available to other media players.
