Since 4/5/12 I have not been able to play video podcast. Any idea whats going on? It also says "no activity found to handle Intent {act=android.intent.action.view.dat=file:///mnt/Sdcard......
I opened the downloaded media file on a PC & this message was displayed "This video is only available in the Blip player" So I imagine Blip only wants you to use a Blip player or iTunes for downloaded content.
So those feeds don't seem to work unless you are using a blip player...never heard of that before. The files that get download are tiny vids that basically say that you need the blip player. If you can find a blip player for android (I couldn't), you may be able to stream the vids in that after they are downloaded by DC.
Fortytwoandrising's workaround works. Blip is making changes in what they allow to be downloaded. I logged a support case with them recently, and they indicated they will look into the possibility of allowing downloads with podcatchers that are currently having the problem (so far I've seen this with both Doggcatcher and BeyondPod). Hopefully they will allow these, but they seem unsure (or not ready to reveal) what direction they ultimately will go regarding allowing podcast downloads.
fortytwoandrising's workaround should work. This appears to be a recent policy change at Blip. When I asked about this, this was their response:
Hi there,
As the in-player message explains, we do not allow playback outside of the Blip player and are taking more aggressive actions towards limiting this behavior as it causes excessive bandwidth usage and many times is used by accounts to circumvent our ad network in favor of their own.
What is the name & URL of the podcast you're problem with?
Well there's about 15 of them but here is one example: Mommy needs yarn, http://a.blip.tv/mommyneedsyarn/episode-48-retreat-recovery-6013166
Not sure why this feed is not working, are all the feeds you're having a issue with from the blip network?
Yes
I found this URL http://blip.tv/mommyneedsyarn/rss/itunes it will only allow streaming, long press on a episode & select stream.
I think streaming is the only way watch Blip content at this time.
Hmmm, they all downloaded before. I don't get it. Thank you for checking it out.

Take a look at this link - http://j42.video2.blip.tv/5560010393798/Potatono-OOPViews677.mp4
Thanks what the publisher gives us when we try to download the video.
I saw a workaround on another forum that said changing the user agent to iTunes/10.1.6 seems to work. It seems to work for me with DoggCatcher.
Go to Preferences -> Misc -> User Agent and enter "iTunes/10.6.1" and see if that helps.

You can find directions on using the Blip player at http://support.blip.tv/entries/466641-how-to-embed-a-single-episode-player
Thanks,

Thanks for the follow through.
