Auto-Downloads

Update3: The fix for this has been published to the market in release 1368.

Update2: I just gave my beta testers a fix for this. If all goes well, I'll release it to the market in a couple days.

Update: Thanks to the help from igotdt, I was able to find the bug. When a feed's auto-delete policy is set to 'None' or global when the global auto-delete policy is set to none, new downloads do not get added to the queue when a feed is updated.

I'm working on a fix now. I hope to have a fixed release to the beta testers within 24 hrs, and a release to the market within a week. I can bring people into the beta group if you need to get a release before the market release is published.

In the mean time, you can change your auto-delete policy to something other than None and auto-downloads will function properly.

I apologize for the troubles.

Eric

I am really liking this app. I have gotten a quick, helpful response before and that was appreciated. My problem now is with auto-download. I have my feeds set to use global settings. My global settings are as follows:
Number of Items - 5
Auto downloads - 50
Auto Delete Policy - None
Begin downloads only when...
On WiFi - unchecked
On Power - unchecked

My SD has plenty of room, but DC will not auto-download. It updates and shows new items available. It just does not auto-download. I can manually download, which is OK. But, I would like to just grab my phone in the AM and go. Am I missing something obvious, again?

Also, I see there is now an option to specify the Incredible's Emmc. Is it possible to use both the Emmc and sdcard?

Thanks,
Mike

Well, it does not matter that

Well, it does not matter that you set auto download 50 if you limit your feed to 5 items.

Try both numbers the same, but you might want to start with mo reasonable amounts like 10/10 ;)

The 'Number of Items' setting

The 'Number of Items' setting seems to only relate to the number of items displayed for each feed. If I change it to 10/10, I get 10 items displayed but no items downloaded. Like I said before, I can then manually download, but it will not auto-download. I have at present no items downloaded, but there are 7 available that are new from last night. They have not downloaded.

Auto downloads

I'm not sure what happens when the auto-downloads is larger than the number of items...I've never tested that.

Are you only have this problem when you are using the global feed options or do you see the same problem when you configure a feed individually?

Is this problem just with one feed or with all of them? If just one, can you please post the url.

Re: Auto downloads

It happens with all my feeds. I have tried the 10/10 as Karolis suggested below to no avail. I tried individually and globally. Does the auto-downloads count the total number of episodes downloaded and if so, does it count virtual feed items? I do have two virtual feeds that are audio books, which includes a total of 198 items. I can download the podcast items manually, just to make that clear.

Auto download

The auto download adds items that are 'new' to the download queue when a feed is updated. If you have auto-downloads for a feed set to 10 and there are new items and nothing is going into the download queue, then there's a problem.

Can you please do a backup (in the dc menu) and then email the following files to support at snoggdoggler.com

/sdcard/doggcatcher/export/databases/rss
/sdcard/doggcatcher/export/shared_prefs/_preferences

I should be able to reproduce the problem from that and get you set up.

Thanks.

Same here. I have been using

Same here. I have been using this app for a while, and enjoying it. Now the auto-download is broken. It is a pain to have to manually download everything. Please fix it soon.
